Nanotechnology: Novel Solutions (and Potential Drawbacks) Arising from Nanoscale Dimensionality

April 11, 2008 11:00am - 12:30pm

In this presentation at the Center for Nano and Molecular Science and Technology, chief scientist William Lackowski will discuss nanotechnology and how a scientist’s view is different than popular culture. He will provide an explanation that at certain small dimensions matter behaves fundamentally different than in bulk. This difference is why scientists are excited about the benefits of “nano” applied to: renewable energy, agriculture, communications, medicine and electronics. The presentation will be concluded by a short tour of the Nano Science and Technology Building.
